It is a good alternative for Funicular since you don't need to wait for the time schedule. Many time Funicular is too much crowded. ♦ Panoramic trip to castle:
Before you seat, look around and will see:  on the west Cathedral, church HQ where also Napoleon was sleeping, on the Nord semenisce and Plecnik market place on the south dolls theatre with Martin Krpan coming out each hour.
♦ Passing the cross on left you see dragon bridge on the right embassy of Vatican in front left you see tiny building called peglasen in the form of iron made by architect Joze Plecnik. Behind is Low faculty and on the right Theological faculty. 
♦ After 200m you will turn right before Poljane gymnasia.

♦ After 200m on the right you will see biggest tree in diameter in Ljubljana. Before Rudolf Steiner Waldorf  school and gymnasium you will turn right and after 100m you will start to go up on Kmeckih uporov street. You will pass highest point of hill organized by arch. Plecnik and passed by monument of great farmers rebel in 16th century. 
♦ Castle was recently restored in harmonious  mix of old and modern style. Roof is made of heavy metal to persist next 1000 years.
